Who are the Odd Fellows and Rebekah's? They are perhaps the oldest fraternal order in the world. Members working together to improve the quality of life of their members and the communities they live in. The order originated in England during the 18th century as a group of men looking out for each other, their families and farms during a time of unrest. Of course men taking care of other families was not the norm in 18th century England and they were thought to be quite “odd fellows”. The command of the order was to care for the distressed, educate the orphan and bury the dead. The order is based on the principals of Friendship, Love and Truth which you find in their three links symbol with the F,L & T. The Odd Fellows and Rebekah's exist today in 28 countries.

The first Wisconsin Odd Fellow Lodge was established in part of the Iowa Territory in 1835, which later became the state of Wisconsin. In 1889 the Grand Lodge of Wisconsin appointed a committee to investigate establishing a “home” for the aging, informed members and the orphaned children of members. In June 1890 they purchased an existing orphanage in Green Bay. The Odd Fellow Home of Wisconsin was dedicated in January 1891. Over the years members educated orphans, provided room, board and nursing care for older members of the order, later burying many of them in the Odd Fellow plot at Woodlawn Cemetery in Green Bay. In 1965 admission to the Odd Fellow Home was opened to the public.

The continued support of the Odd Fellows and Rebekah's of Wisconsin allows us to keep our community modern, while providing us the opportunity to continue our timeless mission providing dignity, care and warmth in a caring environment.
